Sententious Conversation [Private]

Keiyou cawed from his high perch and shifted his feet again, half opening his wings to stretch. He was still watching the Genin like, well, a hawk. Kakani’s attention itself was focused on Raven, who seemed to still be quite uneasy. This suspicion was confirmed when the girl spoke up, brushing her blonde bangs out of her eyes.

“It's nice to see you both again. There was something you wished to speak of, Kogaku-san?”

Her head tilted slightly forward and to the left, enabling her to look more clearly at Raven without lifting a hand to tuck away her own hair. When she spoke again, it was a struggle to keep the tone light.

“Indeed there was. There’s no need to call me Kogaku-san, Raven, we are all team-mates here and you are older than me, are you not? Call me Kakani, if anything. Formality won’t help us in battle and it doesn’t help anything here, so relax a little.”

Dialogue ending, she leaned her head back against the rough bark of the tree. For her, the day was dragging by so slowly! She had earlier passed the time by studying technique scrolls again, but had quickly lost interest. Now, it was much more interesting being in the presence of Raven and Raidon, but both of them seemed ill at ease around her. That was expected; she had yet to meet any Genin that had acted differently, and for good reason. But, Kakani was making an effort to be sociable, to a degree, because she knew that if they ever fought and her own partners were wary of her, that would impede anything they tried as a team. All she could think at the moment though was how troublesome it was to put forth such actions as these.

[Tsukiyo Raven]

Raven sighed. Kakani was right. "Sorry, Kakani." She then made a mental note to be more relaxed. Raven's muscles, which had previously been tense, began to relax. She was with friends...her first friends, but they were her friends. Or so she hoped. Maybe they thought of her as merely a team-mate, she did not know, but she herself considered each of them her friend and someone worth talking to and protecting. Kakani mentioned that she, Raven, was older than herself. It didn't matter, Raven found herself thinking, because Kakani was definately the better person. It wasn't like Raven was jealous or anything. In fact, she was glad that Kakani was so strong of will. Her own will, once she got started, was something to be reconed with, but Kakani definately dripped with the stuff.

Raven was suddenly aware that her mind had wandered. That happened often to her, and she mentally chastised herself for having her head in the clouds. Her eyes, which had previously held apprehension, were now relaxed...so relaxed in fact...it seemed as if her pupils had completely dissapeared. And in fact, they had, for her eyes were now just a mass of dark green colour. Raven didn't know this however. She never realized that her eyes had changed until someone had told her...but in this case, it was a good thing. It showed a definate relaxation around her team-mates. Now, Raven waited for Kakani to speak her mind about whatever she needed to speak to her about.

Raidon blinked again, listening to Kakani as she concluded their get-together. Well, that had been short. Well, short without all those long pauses. He rolled his shoulders in some very lazy form of a shrug and said casually, "I'll stick around. This is a nice place." It wasn't like Rai was going to steal Kakani's hang out, no, he had his own, but Kakani did have good taste in quiet places to sit and think.

Rai's head turned as he saw Raven enter and find them. That was his que to basically butt out. As she shifted positions, however, Raven greeted the both of them. Being based a lot off of manners, Raidon new that leaving after exchanging greetings was fairly rude. He couldn't just wave and run off... it wasn't like he had a life-threatening mission to get to right away. With a friendly smile, he replied back, "Hey, Raven. It's nice to see you again too." and fell silent once more. Afterall, now was Kakani's and Raven's time. She had said privately this morning, hadn't she?

He trotted forward a few steps and turned to face the tree he had been leaning against for a while, and then shot up from the ground to the leafy branch a little way above. Not a high branch, not a low branch, just an inbetween branch where he could sit and hear well if he wanted to, or sit and hear nothing at all if he wanted to. A nice spot, basically. Raidon guessed they were going to discuss exactly what he and Kakani had, and so he focused the most of his attention on the scenery. It was so quiet in here, it was almost hard to believe that this was still part of Konoha. The only other place quiet like this was generally the memorial stone.

Raidon sighed to himself. Never did like the stone, Raidon did not. He spotted some of his anscestor's names on there after he'd learned that his family name hadn't always been Yasashiku. But, right now, the memorial stone wasn't his focus of attention. He diverted his mind back to the little public garden they were calling their rendezvous point and dissolved into his random little thoughts to clear out his mind for more important things.
