(my my, the fly in the ointment we finally found :3)
Raidon finally stopped smiling. His pale eyes went cold - it was not, he found, actually hard to look angry. With a gaze of sick light yellow, he could look pissed as often as he wanted to. Not that he chose to, anyway. But Raidon didn't dare say thoughts as ice-cold as the ones running through his mind after he listened to Bonkotsu. One... In the life of shinobi, you never act alone. You take chances and you never think twice. In fact, don’t ever think. You must act quickly. Two...A shinobi picks a life of hatre or peace. We become a ninja for one purpose and succeed on that purpose. His eyes narrowed, You could not be any more wrong. Each word crashed individually, slowly into his mind, shattering like pieces of mental glass. But to each his own, no matter how completely...irksome. A curiously devious smile curled across his mouth, hearing Raven stand up to Kotsu as Kakani had. It was not suprising that Kakani would say something like that, but hearing Raven, made him pull his complete attention onto the girl. His smile broke a little wider, eyes turning to Kotsu. In his mind he rained words at their sensei, though he could obviously not hear them. Are we really the whiny pathetic brats you take us for? Would a pathetic brat have the backbone to slam right back at you what they really thought? Didn't think so. A surge of rebellion pulsed through Raidon. His life was normally all cookies and smiles and boring. He was ready to see just how dangerous, fun, and real the world was outside of the academy, with other real ninjas. This was just the start.
"At the Academy, we're taught respect." Raidon frowned, his smile gone and the expression wiped from his eyes. His tone was polite, but it was the strange sort of pleasent undertone mixed in that was just about screaming, 'I'm doing my best to keep this disagreement kindly.' "But it seems over time, some of us do forget it. Genin or not. We are fellow ninjas," He nodded towards Kakani and Raven, then turned his head back into place, tilting it a tiny bit, "and we deserve our share of respect..." Raidon stared at Kotsu for a moment, before adding on, "because, you have ours."
Did Kotsu have their respect, really? Would Raidon dare respect one who's soul was apparently 'consumed by hatred' and thought their team to be a waste of time? His gut reaction was a fat "No", but he knew really, that his good moral interest said 'Despite what he thinks he deserves and will have my respect.' Slowly it dawned on him that he had just spoken rather stupidly his opinion, but he simply toughened up and reminded himself he is entitled to say what he wants at his own cost. Raidon slid to a more comfortable position in the tree where he sat, folding his arms across his chest and watching carefully what would unfold after they three fell silent. It appeared that much more went on behind each Genin that any of them would've ever thought. Kakani, though brave to start with, was more couragious than Raidon thought. Raven had the courage as well, only Rai never took her to have much as a start. One could, however, be proven wrong. He knew this well from experience. And Kotsu... Kotsu seemed a little more trouble than they bargained for. It would take time for them to get along, but Raidon was willing to. He did not come all this way to find a minor problem with getting along with his team and then completely give up on being a ninja. That was not the way that things worked in Raidon's world, or any other decent person on the road to being a true shinobi's world, anyhow. He blinked his eyes, ridding them of the chill, and giving himself over to a slate-blank expression.
