I'm speaking to all of us when I speak, since even I know that I do not visit here often enough. This is a better Naruto site than some of you may know, if you've seen or been involved in with any others.
Our biggest flaws are our lack of members and our lack of activity, two big flaws. First of all, new recruits won't stick around long if there is no one to talk to or no continual roleplay. Secondly, many of us aren't advertising at all.
Forums start small, but our growth has seemingly ground to a halt, and the number of actual visits are dropping alarmingly. Does anyone have any advertisement ideas or recruitment ideas that could help fix this problem? I'm sure that if even a few of us pull together on this HVOFG (as I'm calling it) could become a popular and friendly Naruto roleplaying forum.
As for activity, that's simple- visit more, get involved. Start a contest, just start a thread, talk about anything from the lint in your carpet to your latest hangnail, but please, please try to inject some life here! Maybe I'm the only one concerned right now, but I don't want to see a potentially great forum die where it stands. The question is how willing you are, as a member of this small community, to help.
So, has anyone got any ideas, advice, opinions? Speak your mind, I don't bite. That would be difficult through a computer screen anyway. e__e'

I have an idea. There are top sights for Anime/Naruto rping forums. I think we should sign up for 1-2 and try to get members to vote for us! In that way we could atract more people to our forum and not only appear to be a good naruto rping forum but one of the best! Here's an example of one: www.rpgtopsites.com/list.php3?list=1035782565&gate=nOf course we could find another. OOO gotta go now~ I hope the idea is liked.

Yayness! Keep this alive, people! ><
I'll post our forum on that site that Hinoki posted. But, we'll need a new banner 468 x 60 maximum to fit their standards to have us listed.
I come on here everyday and see myself the only one on almost all the time. And I look at the posts and there is a minimum one post for that day. It's sickening to me seeing that Akina and I and other people have been working our butts off to make this place nice for everybody. >>

Hinoki: That's a great idea, like Nakamura said, she'll sign us up.
Nakamura: I usually just signed off whenever I saw myself as the only person, but to help keep the site running as long as I'm online anywhere I'm keeping this window up. If you need help with that banner, I can give it a shot.
And the whole forum appreciates the work you put into this place, some of them just don't know it yet. :3

I'm not good at making banners, so I'll just sign us up until we can get one.

Alright. I'll get working on a big and small banner, aswell as a dA one if I can. It'd help if we spread the word around a bit more, on any sites anyone here visits. Plus, you might want to add the link to the first post of the thread on the BBA, since it's hidden in the reply posts.

Alright, I'll do that.
I'm making a few small banners for DA. I've signed us up for three sites so far. *pokes banners* I'll sign us up for more later.

Perhaps we should have an activity check. You know, one of those post once a month or you're deleted things. That way we could see who was active and who wasn't, and keep only the used accounts. We could also ask everyone that they visit and update at least roleplays twice a week. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Okau, I would come on more IF I wasn't grounded. I snuck on today, but that's besides the point. I agree with the activity check. It would be useful to know what rps to bump and such. Cuase, if you start an rp and someone replies then you reply and your waiting for them for weeks, isn't that a waste of time?

Pretty much. Which reminds me, it's my turn to post here. I might be leaving soon today though, orthodonist appointment plus my Catholic classes (yuck!) and such.

We could also ask everyone that they visit and update at least roleplays twice a week. That's not too much to ask, is it? I think this should be kept more as a free-for-all thing. Because many people, including me, would think that it would be extremely rude to delete one's account. (Nobody can delete another's account, they have to do so themselves. ) But some rps may not need to be replied to, one may be on a trip, grounded, or something and can't reach a computer. It's no excuse for letting them not back in. That makes us lose members because many think that is rude. I remember that one forum had that rule and I didn't even bother to register because of that. Which was a shame because everything else about it was really nice.

Mmm, perhaps deleting the account might not be the best path. But, do we have an absence board?
And I do think people could manage getting on twice a week, unless with good reason. Even if they just stop by. At the very least, people could update the roleplays they're in. It's frustrating whenever you're interested in a roleplay and you sit around for weeks because someone just doesn't feel like visiting and updating, even when you see them participating in other sites. I think some people have commitment problems when it comes to joining a forum, as if they can join up, start something, and leave it there for the people that do care to suffer for their carelessness.

Deleting an account does seem a bit extreme, but you're correct, there are places to mention if a member is going to be absent for any length of time.
I myself, while not having posted in quite some time, check the boards once every day, or maybe every other day if I've been busy. The problem is, is that all the threads I'm currently involved with, have reached a standstill, because other members have failed to post. In my case, it's the same member, with two different characters, in both my genin and jounin threads.
I don't know how to remedy this issue, as the member isn't online much, and when she is, she rarely speaks with me, via MSN. And when she does, shortly afterward, something comes up and she needs to leave the computer. *shrugs* It just puts myself, along with the other two people we're RPing with (as we've all set up a team), in a bit of a spot.

-gives the forum CPR-!!! I've got a pulse!
...^_^; I don't visit the forum as often as I should, nor have I been posting. I regret to say that I have the same problem as Sejiriku -points up and waves at Seji while doing so- I come here to check on threads, and the desired character hasn't replied. It's a shame, but I know she can't help it; life comes first!
Yes, please! I want to assist in any way of keeping this site alive! I love my characters aswell as everyone elses! If anyone wants to RP, I'm sure we can figure something out. This is the difficult thing about the actual concept of Naruto. Most characters are restricted to RPing with their given Genin groups.

Hmmm... maybe Genins could run into one another on a mission sometimes?
