The silence as food was consumed was comfortable enough and Yumi busied herself with her ramen. Blue-grey eyes shifted over to Itoe momentarily with a small smile as the dog seemed absolutely thrilled to be consuming food. Yes, he seemed rather malnourished also. The Cloud Jounin felt relieved in meeting this pair; for giving them a decent meal if for nothing else.
Yumi looked up from her meal in slight surprise that the silence had been broken by the quiet girl. The blonde woman swallowed her mouthful before twirling her chopsticks in her fingers thoughtfully. "A Jounin by the name of Naotaka Reiji. Very nice man; very serious though," Yumi smiled over at Sei before looking back down at Itoe's empty bowl. "Wow, must have been hungry."
The young woman's thoughts strayed to her meeting with the Jounin of Sand. Yes, he had been a very nice character, even though he was a little indifferent of her at first. The bulked up man seemed very loyal to his village.

As soon as Yumi said her Sensei's name Sei felt herself choke at her food. Dropping her chopsticks on the bowl Sei covered her mouth as she coughed. Itoe glanced up, a look of concern washing over as Sei fought to calm herself down.
When she was able to breathe again, Sei wiped the tear that formed during her little fit and glanced at Yumi. Well, this was going to be an unfair deal, wasn't it? Sei took in a deep breathe, making sure she was alright before saying her thoughts.
"Well, I suppose you just wasted money on me then..." she said. Itoe's ears perked. What were they talking about? He relaxed though when Sei seemed to be fine, sitting back on the floor and head moving to the two females.

A soft clang was heard from Yumi's chopsticks as the woman dropped them at the spluttering of the Genin across from her. She was choking! The older woman rose to her feet stretching a hand out in aim to pat the girl ont he back, only to stop her movement when Sei calmed down by herself.
The paniced flutter in the Jounin's stomach settled and Yumi slumped into her seat with a relieved sigh. This composure soon changed however. "Wasted my... Reiji is your Sensei?" she blinked with surprise, "Well, what a small world!" Yumi couldn't help but laugh at the coincidence. "Oh well. Don't get to meet a new Jounin, but I've gotten to meet a new Genin instead," she smiled sincerely with a wink to show she didnt mind the accidental loop hole of their deal before looking down at Itoe, "And a lovely animal companion aswell."
Shaking her head in slight disbelief, Yumi continued on with her food. One fo Reiji's students then? Very interesting. "So how do you find Reiji as a Sensei? He seems to be ontop of things."

Itoe beamed at Yumi glanced down at him, his tail starting to wag happily. Sei smirked at Itoe, shaking her head at the old dog. He would like anyone who gave him food.... Grabbing her chopsticks she started at her food again, pausing at Yumi's question about Rei. She stared down, her eyebrows scrunched in a frown as she thought over the question.
Rising back up, Sei shrugged at Yumi. "I haven't been with him long enough to really know. I have only been assigned to him for not even a day. Tomorrow is when the real training starts." Sei felt her stomach drop. She had no idea what the test was going to be tomorrow... She was never one who liked surprises either...
Itoe uttered a soft whine as he spotted the uneasyness in Sei, nudging her arm with his muzzle. Sei smiled softly at him, patting his head. "I think he will be a good Sensei though.... He doesn't seem to mind me very much, and that's rather odd around here." she said, still petting her dog, eyes fixed on him. Perhaps she shouldn't have said that... she didn't want to rise questions.

Yumi's eyes sparkled with further interest at the mention of the duration of her time under Reiji's aid. So, tomorrow would be the test then. That might explain the nerves she was very skillfully trying to hide at the moment. The Cloud Jounin nodded mutely toward the Genin as she replied to her question, continuing to eat aswell.
Her attention wavered from her food however as the red-head continued to speak about her Sensei. Or more, mentioned of her place within the Sand Village's society. Yumi, despite her cheerful and harmless inquisitive nature knew better than to press the certain matter just brought up. "Well, perhaps this is the start of new beginnings then," were her broad and optimistic words toward Sei before she finished off her ramen with a satisfied sound.
Smiling softly at how Itoe managed to make Sei calmer and surely happy, Yumi knew that the girl would be alright. It looked like she'd had it rough, but it wasn't her place to interrogate the Genin minutes into meeting her. "If you have finished your meal then, I'd suggest you go and get some well earned rest," Yumi's face grew slightly more serious but her voice still held her gentleness, "I will leave you to your test tomorrow and seek out your Sensei later on. You can tell me all about your test then."
