((Just a small story about a werewolf named Jake and all his problems ^^))
Jake sniffed the air, his sensitive nose easily sorting the scents that moved through the nighttime breeze. His brown, black, and golden colored hair blew into his face slightly, blocking the stars from his sight. He growled lowly and shook his head to free his cadet blue eyes from the hair blocking their sight.
The teen could easily pick out the constallations in the stars, his favorite being Pegasus the Winged Horse. A sigh escaped his parted lips as he fell back onto the grassy hill, arms out and eyes focused on the almost full moon. The hairs along the back of his neck rose as the bright orb in the sky seemed to memorize him.
He stayed like that for hours, watching the moon soar across the skies. The sound of a creaking door sounded behind him and Jake rolled onto his stomach. He seemed to hiss as the light emmitting from the open door spilled out onto the darkness of the lawn. With a low growl he leaped to his feet and rushed to a tree, hiding behind its trunk.
There was a sound of a slammed door and muttered curses along with the crunching of gravel under large feet. “Boy!” someone roared in a loud booming voise that would send any dog huddling for cover.
Jake took a deep breath to keep himself from growling and yelling. Taking another deep breath he turned, head low, shoulders hunched, a small limp in his step. Truthfully, he had no limp, but wasn’t about to let this man know that. He stopped in front of who had called him, head still staying hug even as his eyes glanced upwards.
The man had a stren look on his well-shaped face. His body was well built, muscles everywhere on his body. His blue eyes were cold and hard, showing no emotion whatso ever. A torn up white tee covered the upper part of his body while sweatpants covered the bottom. A mop of brown hair covered the top of his head.
The teen knew what was coming next. He braced himself, closing his eyes and turning his head slightly away from the older man. As a fist slammed into his face Jake staggered back a bit. With a small whimper of pain so low that the man didn’t hear he stayed where he was, clenching his fists so hard blood ran down them. Something inside him was raging at him, screaming at Jake to not just stand by and take this but to fight back as well. Jake knew better. He wouldn’t give this man the pleasure of seeing him go bezerk.
He opened one eye and glanced upwards. The man was moving down the rest of the gravel path, leaving Jake standing there. The ideas of staying there and letting the man continue on home without him filled his mind more than once at the moment. But the consequences came too. The fact that if he did stay he would most likely get beat mater was enough to move his feet.
Blue eyes keot glancing upwards to the back of the man’s head then down to the ground. “Um….Dad….” started Jake. “What did she have to say?” He winced mentally at the thought of his father speaking to his mother who didn’t want either of them. Lately his father had been going to talk to his mom, leaving Jake outside while they talked. And no matter how many times Jake asked he always got the same answer.
“None of your business.”
Yep. There it was. The same answer he always got no matter how many times he refraised and asked the question. He wouldn’t press it any farther. Jake had his suspicions on what they were talking about. Once he had been eavesdropping and heard his name at least five different times, and never in a good way.
A sigh escaped his semi-parted lips and his shoulders sagged a tiny bit.
