The figure of a woman was outlined by the setting sun and she turned to witness its glow. They ever had such vibrant colours from the sun in her village. A small smile curled the Kumo Jounin's lips before the blonde woman continued her treck across the awkward terrain into the Village of Sand. Yumi enjoyed travelling to the different villages around the lands, and played the part as sort of an ambassador for her Village of Cloud.
Blue-grey eyes scanned the streets with interest, taking in the environment and the slight twist in culture the people of Suna owned. Readjusting her pack on her shoulders, Iino Yumi forced her travel weary legs to continue on deeper into the village, nodding with a polite smile to those who caught sight of her Lightning Crest around her hips.
The lithe woman sighed softly at the realisation that she would have to return to her own village ina few weeks. Her newly assigned class would be ready and waiting for her to make them into Chuunins. But for now, she would enjoy the different scenary and ways of life here; perhaps even learn a thing or two from the Sand Jounin. In fact she might just stray near the academy to see if she could catch one of them now...

Reiji had dismissed his training early for once, but not out of compassion for his pupils. No... Class had been dismissed because the Jounin could not handle one more second of that Kazumi boy's lizard without relinquishing to the urge to fry it up.. and eat it. Reiji's thoughts wandered, bringing to mind the fantastic image of the little rotten anole splayed out across a frying pan, with comical little x's for eyes.
Of course, the Jounin would never dream of eating the boy's pet... It was his pet after all, a friend. And though the little creature annoyed the sensei to no end, there was no way he'd give in to his frustrated imaginings. He just... didn't have the heart to do so. Not that he'd word it that way to anyone who might happen to ask. He'd always stick with the 'Lizards probably taste terrible anyway' routine. It worked, for the most part.
On his way out from the academy, after checking in with his peers, and good friend Riichi, Noataka Reiji had adorned his sandy colored Jounin's vest and left. He'd also left wearing one of his rare smiles, after having a much needed chat with his old teamate, Riichi. And as a result, the broad-shouldered young man was now walking towards his home, feeling much more relaxed and at ease than he had in weeks. And maybe... even a little more chipper too.
And it was nearing night. This in itself left Reiji feeling immensely happy. Not even the fact that morning lay in wait shortly after, could break him from his pleased nature. Night was by far the best time in the desert, and it produced some of the most fantastic sunset's he'd ever seen. Of course, as a loyal Suna shinobi, Rei had never strayed too far from homelands...
This, however, did not seem to be the case for others that had taken the path to being a Shinobi. Mismatched gray eyes fell upon the recognizable face of a foreigner. She was far lighter-skinned than most of the people in the village, and much lighter haired as well. And the lightning crest upon her belt finished up Reiji's short observations. Not only was she not from anywhere nearby, she was a fellow shinobi... one of a high ranking too, it seemed, for her vest was very much like the one Rei had adorned earlier.
Shifting his direction ever so slightly, the large man weaved his way through the locals, occasionally nodding his head in return to their cheerful greetings. Reaching the newcomer, the Jounin cocked his head ever so slightly to the side before speaking. "It's strange to see members of other villages in Suna... What might we be able to help you with?"

Dragging her attention away from the colours of orange, red and pinks that were smeared across the sky, Yumi's sparkling eyes took to the sandy road once more. Her keen senses caught the movement of someone moving against the crowd toward her and she stopped in her light footsteps when she was addressed. She blinked up at the impressive looking man and broke into a smile at recognising him as a Jounin of Suna.
He had intriguing eyes that were two shades of grey for each one, and large muscles that wore tanned skin over them. Yumi bowed politely toward him and offered a hand. "Jounin Iino Yumi," she gave a friendly smile, "I am an ambassador from Kumo, the Cloud Village." She had come across a fellow Jounin already; she loved making new friends and allys from different villages. There so much they could learn from one another.
However, Yumi knew she was tip-toeing on dangerous grounds when it came to crossing cultures. Most did not want their methods to life and special techniques to be known by others. In the wrong hands... "You might beable to help me," she flicked her long bangs from her face lightly, "I have come on peaceful terms; to explore the lands of others and experience other's cultures. One can never stop learning. I would merely like to stay in your lands for a while under the village's permission and will leave within a couple of weeks to my newly assigned students."
Yumi did not waste time in revealing her plans, and continued to smile eagerly up at the ninja.
