Clan Name and Origin: Kogaku. The name Kogaku means, ‘Ancient Music,’ and originated in Konoha, long before the Village Hidden in the Sound was formed. It is rumored that the Kogaku clan would have been powerful ancestors in the Sound Country, but not only was the Sound Country not around, they are true to their Konoha ancestry. This clan is very old, but small- consisting of only a few families. All members in this family receive the secrets of their bloodline, and each receive an instrument imbued with symbols and writings of their clan etched into the wood or metal. Only the owner of these instruments can play them, and they are made so that the player of the instrument can manipulate their chakra with them, substituting notes for hand signs. This enables them to perform hand sign techniques faster, slur them together, or play them on different scales for mildly different effects. Kakani also uses her instrument, a flute, to communicate with her hawk, Keiyou.
