Name: Shinzuikaze Taimou (Shin-zoo-kah-zay Tay-m’yo)
Alias: Taimou (Tai)
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Village: Konoha
Rank: Genin
Sensei: Inuzuka Bonkotsu
Team-mates: Tsukiyo Raven & Yasashiku Raidon
Clan: Shinzuikaze
Mother: Rinsei (deceased)
Father: Kobushi (deceased)
Pet(s): Keiyou (Hawk, ‘Kay-yoo’)
Personality: She’s young, and it shows. Like kids her age since the beginning of time, Tai is swung this way and that by the mood-swings of the teenagers. Well, she isn’t quite a teenager yet but her birthday fast approaches, and the mixed, confusing emotions of adolescence don’t wait until you blow out your candles. She can seem happy one minute, but angry or sad the next. Most of the time, she’s simply thoughtful or quiet. Everything she says she either said only because it was necessary and having thought before speaking, or she’s saying it because she wants to be cheeky or smart-alecky. What a combination, eh?
What she does avoid is stupid questions, meaningless chatter and gossip though serious discussion can interest her depending on the subject. Luckily for her, she’s also been raised with a strong sense of work ethics, enabling her to actually enjoy training and studying. She can often be seen pushing herself past her limits or surrounded by a mess of books and scrolls, off in some shady corner somewhere or out in in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere, probably burning down half the forest.
The first time you might meet her, you’d probably get the sense of you-can-look-but-you-can’t-touch, more in the she-isn’t-going-to-let you-in way. Only those that earn her trust over time see the real side of her, her mistrustful and skeptical side having it’s roots in her path. The last thing that can be mentioned is that she often muses, wondering how this works, why, when this happened, where, picking apart every subject that interests her big or small until she understands. Granted, her constant striving is stressful and exhausting, but insofar during her twelve years of life she has never been known to go to pieces or give up. She's stubborn and will never admit it, but perhaps it's a friend that she needs.
Past: Shinzuikaze Taimou was actually born in Suna during one of the many wars. Her father, Kobushi, was very worried about his wife; she was very weak after Tai’s birth, and he was concerned about her safety. He sent her to Konoha, who was then allied with Suna at the time. She hated having to stay there; it wasn’t that she didn’t like the place or the people, it was just that she missed her homeland. Before they left, Kobushi gave his daughter the most important gift that could be given from the clan; a hawk egg that during hatching, would be made sure that the first thing the chick saw was Tai.
When Tai was around three years old, Kobushi died in the war and Rinsei returned home with her child, bringing along the Keiyou the hawk who had already bonded with his little mistress. While in Konoha, she had made a few friends, but she was too sad to say much of a goodbye and disappeared back to Suna quietly. Once home, she raised Tau with the other children; Tau can still remember running around and playing with other Suna toddlers, but more often remembered solitary moments, or at least just with Keiyou who was a constant companion. Rinsei wasn’t well known by the other mothers, and Tai was an odd child to begin with.
The war raged on heedless of the lives of children nonetheless, and when resources became depleted Rinsei was called back to service. She, too, eventually died in the war, protecting a group of refugees fleeing from the war zone. Tai was left without family in Suna, only a few friends of her mother’s back in Konoha; despite having been born in Suna, at around age eight Tai was shunted again back to Konoha to live with a friend of Rinsei’s. The constant moving while she was young had prevented Tai from making any real friends, and now it was difficult for her to do so; it was also hard for her to settle in once more, a small part of her young mind half-expecting to be pushed somewhere else again.
It wasn’t long before she showed that she could move out and live on her own, and since Rinsei’s old friends didn’t much like the odd little girl, she promptly did move out and into a small, two floor house squished between a few other buildings on the edge of the city. The building was worn and old, floorboards creaking and coming complete with a medley of noises in the night, leaky faucets, the whole deal; but to the nine year old girl, it was home; it had only a few rooms; the bottom floor was just a small kitchen, with stairs leading up to the loft which housed a simple room where Tai kept her things and a small bathroom.
She quickly enrolled herself in the Academy, keeping her Suna name and family crest. From then on, well, she passed the Academy, doing very well, and is now assigned to her sensei Bonkotsu as a Genin, along with her teammates Raidon and Raven. Anything else that can be learned about her can be read in her personality; save for one thing; when she had been in Suna, she had met a boy. He had been one of the few to ever glance at her twice without staring, and even approach and talk with her. They had been good friends; Tai had been heartbroken when she’d been moved to Konoha, the boy’s parents not letting her stay in their house.
She thought of him often during her time in Konoha, and after she graduated from the Academy she met him again during one of his missions for Suna, one that required carrying some mail to Konoha. His team was in a hurry and they’d only had a little bit of time to talk, but they found they were still close and that not much had changed between them. Before he’d left, he’d only told her one thing; find me. she had bit her lip and nodded, trying to smile though she wasn’t used to that expression.
Right now she is concentrating on her studies twice as hard so that their meeting wouldn’t bother her; especially since Bonkotsu left on a big mission. He’s now returned, and as time goes on Tai is torn at the crossroads; leave to find him, or stay with her team and Konoha. Decisions, decisions… she doesn’t believe herself strong enough in any case to go anywhere as of yet, though this is an excuse to put off thinking about it until she’s at least a Chuunin.
