Jutsus:
- Thousand Years of Pain
A jutsus that's been passed from Jounin to Jounin through countless villages to use against unruly students. The hand seal leaves the user's two hands clasped, with thumbs and forefingers extended. From here, the jutsus user soundly jabs his target in the butt with his fingers, where a significant amount of chakra is shot forth, causing immense pain in the victim's rear and launching them several feet at a high speed. - Gufuu Shougekiha - [Tornado Shockwave]
By focusing chakra, user is able to expand the air pressure around his/her punches and kicks to send the opponent flying backwards from a gust of wind. - Suna Ryoshi - [Sand Hunter]
Large towers of sand that erupt from beneath the opponent. If they dodge, more spike towers emerge. Spikes stay after creation. - Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu
This ninjutsu isn't a widely used technique, since it is only used when surprising the enemy. After performing a series of hand seals and raising his chakra, the ninja is buried underground using his chakra. He can then move freely inside the ground, as if he was outside. - Mamotte Ageru no Jutsu - [Protection] - [Personal Created Jutsu]
A much more extreme version of the 'Body Switching' jutsu, where living beings are used for positions to be exchanged. This is also combined with Kabe no Suna [Wall of Sand], in which the exchanged target is housed in a sheild wall of sand, so that once the switch has been recognized they're unreach able. When switching positions with another human, the jutsu user in turn takes their place under any attack aimed at the other, taking on the full force of whatever it may be and sparing the other from it. Lethal blows are still lethal. (Reiji tends to add both Iron Body [Airon Shitai] and Chakra Scalpel [Chakra no Mesu] into the mix, often protecting himself from the first initial blow landed on him, and earning him the upperhand and the element of surprise in which he's able to attack with the Scalpel technique, often ending the battle there.)
Cons: This whole series drains a user of a large amount of chakra, and should therefore only be used as a last, last resort.

Appearance:
Reiji is a very, very big man. He's broad shouldered and barrel chested, and well-muscled to boot. This gives him a very intimidating presence, that he's grown quite fond of. To accent this first impression, the man has a deep, gravelly voice that starts at a low rumble in the center of his chest. A wonderful asset when it comes to barking orders to his students. His hair, when going uncut for some time, (which is how it often is), tends to hang in his face. It's a normal shade of brown, almost caramel in coloration, though it has other additional streaks that range from honey gold, to an almost black shade of brown. His eyes, however, are a very striking and piercing shade of gray, though one is considerably darker than the other.
As far as clothing/apparel goes, Reiji's outfit is simple. He wears nothing but his Jounin vest, if he wears a shirt at all, and loose fitting pants that are often tied up at the knee. His arms are bare, save for the slightly armored plated material that reaches from his elbow to his wrist (works well for blocking thrown objects). His feet, though usually never seen in shoes, are wrapped, mostly to keep the heat of the sand from hindering him while training/fighting. He also has a few tattoos, but the only one that's usually seen, is the large tribal design running along the man's spine and out across his shoulder blades.
Personality:
At first glance, Reiji looks just about exactly how he acts. He's a big man, with an equal sized pride, honor, and authority. ... His voice is pretty damn big too, come to think of it. But so is his heart, a small tidbit of information that not many people know about him. He's also... kind of a goof, if you catch him in the right mood.
For the most part, Reiji's strict, and gruff. He doesn't take too well to nonsense or lip from his students. And he'll not hesitate to put them in their place, be it through harsher training, or a spar... with him. Rei comes off as very grouchy and intolerant, but it's mostly because people tend to approach him in the morning, easily his worst time of the day.
For the lucky individuals that don't allow his rough first impression to rub them the wrong way, they are introduced to a totally different side to the Jounin. Though he's skilled and deadly, and not the most gentle-spoken person in the world, Rei truly does have a nice side. Unfortunately, it only seems to come out when he's with his team, and just his students. He's been known to warm up eventually to the students that show certain traits which bring them respect from the older shinobi, but those are very few and far between.
It's not unknown for the larger man to be a bit of a goof, and laugh and joke with his students when out on missions... However, it's usually only at night that he ever really loosens up. People say it's the heat that turns him sour. One trait of his that everyone knows of, is his devotion to his job, and his students. If anything comes their way that they can't handle, they can rest assured that Reiji will throw himself in harms way; after all, 3 live students is far better than 3 dead ones... even if it means losing a Jounin in the process.
Side note: Reiji like chess. He likes chess a lot. He likes it so much, in fact, that he'll force (yes force) his students to play it with him. Sometimes, he'll even take a break from training, to play a game. He's not the best, but will win most of the time. However, if a student happens to beat him... he gets very, very upset.
History/Past:
Most of Reiji's childhood is unimportant, as the man had a relatively normal life growing up. His father was a Chuunin in Suna's academy, and a well-respected one at that, who had all the potential to become a Jounin, but would not, for his love of teaching those brand new to the rank of Shinobi. Rei's father loved the younger children and his job to death, which made his own academy years far more tolerable; Ichiei Naotaka was a well-liked teacher, and earned respect from each of his students that he taught. His mother, Terue, also had earned a job at the academy, but instead of teaching, she was one of the fine healing shinobi who tended to the various injuries recieved from academy students to the Kazekage himself.
Being so closely tied to the academy and its ways of teaching, Reiji had already decided at a very young age that he would become a shinobi to make even his parents proud. And did he make them proud. He flew through his years as an academy student with high marks, and it wasn't long before he became one in a team of three Genin. His sensei was a very chipper young man, and well-experienced in the art of producing well-trained Genin for the annual Chuunin exams. But despite his light heartedness, the Jounin had a very tough side. He gave his students no leeway, no 'easy ways out.' He worked them hard, and he worked them daily... especially on the days when the teens would bicker... (Reiji had the misfortune of being teamed with two that made it incredibly difficult for anyone to get along).
But they still grew close, and began to function as a well-oiled machine. Orika handled all the genjutsu tactics, Riichi covered most of the ninjutsu tactics, and Reiji did what he did best; Taijutsu. Sensei Daichi made sure they all learned the techniques well, and memorized them to the point where they did not even have to think about it, hands and feet merely moved. Word had spread that Daichi's team was by far the best that year, and the group continued to complete mission after mission, gradually getting to the point where they were allowed higher ranking missions than what their own ranks would allow. The needed a challenge, after all.
And, unfortunately, they got a far bigger challenge than they could handle. No one knows the exact details of the mission, for those are always kept secret when dealing with those of higher ranking than C or D... But the results were tragic. The Genins had been put into a spot that they could not fight their way out of, but they did try. They had to; it meant their lives. Despite their efforts, Orika went down under several well-aimed kunai... Then Daichi came to the rescue...
In the end, the mission was completed, but only two members of the team had survived. Riichi and Reiji, who'd grown close enough that one would think them to be brothers, emerged from the foreign lands they'd traveled to, each bearing the body of a teammate. No one could ever get out of them what they'd been doing, or who they'd run into... And it remains as such to this day; the two are as close as ever, and as quiet as ever about the events of that day.
From there, Reiji was assigned to a new team, accompanied (not surprisingly) by Riichi and the two both eventually graduated to Chuunin together, and then Jounin followed. Reiji, upon recieving the rank of Jounin, vowed to do things the way his old sensei did, in his honor, and because he knew that without Daichi, no one in that group would have survived. His ways are in the shadow of Daichi's teachings, harsh and unrelenting, but necessary all the same.
Even Reiji younger sister Yuiri became interested in the shinobi way of life and tried her hand at it, despite the tragedy she'd seen befall her older brother. Now, she teaches as a Chuunin, the way their father did, while Reiji teaches as a Jounin.
Now he's been assigned his first team of Genin, (Krail, Miura and Seishuku), and was blessed to be handed a group the was the mirror image of his old one when he was still in training. Needless to say, the man's taken a strange attachment to the group, and goes out of his way to make sure that they become strong enough to fend for themselves... And if they're caught in a time where they aren't able to defend themselves, then again, Reiji will unhesitatingly move in Daichi's shadow, and put his kids before himself..
